Sebastian Vettel feels well prepared |
The next round in the fight for the world title is heralded in a week in Austin. A course which is new for all pilots, so neither team really knows what it has set itself. "We will have a general idea before we sit for the first time at the wheel, but we have to go into the basic elements of our simulations," said Red Bull driver Mark Webber.
However, the simulator can not give information about how the asphalt in terms of grip, or behaves like the track temperatures would develop over the race weekend. "We have a lot of unanswered questions that can only be resolved on Friday," admitted the Australian.
Order to be prepared, the championship leader Vettel drove some laps in the simulator yet. "I was in the simulator to learn the track in Austin, how it flows and to develop a general feel for it," explained the Heppenheim, which would be mainly due to the differences in height of the track. "The highest point is about 12 feet higher than the lowest expected", pointed to Vettel. This feature promises, according to the double world champion a fast course with difficult curves, which are the drivers do not easily.
Teammate Webber speaks in this context of a fantastic layout and can not wait to give for the first time in Austin gas. "Its probably one of the best layouts of the year", the Australian referred to the challenge for drivers and car. He himself was privately on several occasions in the Texas capital, and is convinced that Austin will cope because of many previous festivals, the organization of the race perfectly.
