Formula 1 Vettel Austin Is A Challenge One Of The Best Layouts Of The Year

Sebastian Vettel
Sebastian Vettel feels well prepared
Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber looking forward to the penultimate race of the season in Austin, although the first race where it is connected with many question marks.

The next round in the fight for the world title is heralded in a week in Austin. A course which is new for all pilots, so neither team really knows what it has set itself. "We will have a general idea before we sit for the first time at the wheel, but we have to go into the basic elements of our simulations," said Red Bull driver Mark Webber.

However, the simulator can not give information about how the asphalt in terms of grip, or behaves like the track temperatures would develop over the race weekend. "We have a lot of unanswered questions that can only be resolved on Friday," admitted the Australian.

Order to be prepared, the championship leader Vettel drove some laps in the simulator yet. "I was in the simulator to learn the track in Austin, how it flows and to develop a general feel for it," explained the Heppenheim, which would be mainly due to the differences in height of the track. "The highest point is about 12 feet higher than the lowest expected", pointed to Vettel. This feature promises, according to the double world champion a fast course with difficult curves, which are the drivers do not easily.

Teammate Webber speaks in this context of a fantastic layout and can not wait to give for the first time in Austin gas. "Its probably one of the best layouts of the year", the Australian referred to the challenge for drivers and car. He himself was privately on several occasions in the Texas capital, and is convinced that Austin will cope because of many previous festivals, the organization of the race perfectly.

2014 Lexus IS Sedan Gives us a First Peak at the Interior

2014 Lexus IS sedan

Just like it did last year with the all-new GS, Lexus invited the press to meet its next generation IS sedan before it unveils the car to the public at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in mid-January.
Among those who received an invitation was U.S. comedian and television host Jay Leno who traveled all the way to Japan and the Fuji Motor Speedway to try out a pre-production prototype of the 2014 IS that was covered on the outside, but not on the inside, thus affording us our first view of the dashboard.
Leno hints at a longer wheelbase and a sportier chassis setup aimed to compete primarily against the BMW 3-Series and from the looks of things, GMs newcomer in the segment, the Cadillac ATS.
Weve already established that both the exterior and interior lines of the new IS will look a lotlike the LF-CC Concept, which is to be expected since the study will eventually enter production as the coupe version of the series. However, at this time, we dont know if Lexus will use the IS Coupe nameplate or if it will follow the example of BMW with the 4-Series and create a new LF moniker.
Weve heard that in North America, the new IS will be offered in two flavors at launch, the IS 250 with a 2.5-liter V6 and the IS 350 with a 3.5-liter V6 linked to an 8-speed automatic transmission. An F-Sport grade with a sportier suspension and styling will be available for both engines.
