Mercedes Benz A Class Launch on May 30
Mercedes Benz A Class is the most important Launch for Mercedes in India to get back to the number one position. Yesterday we reported that Mercedes will launch the A Class next month. Now we have got the confirmation that Mercedes will launch the all new A Class in May 30th. Mercedes brings the A180 to India. A 180 get the option of both Diesel and Petrol engines. We expect the A180 petrol variant to be powered by 1.6 L Turbocharged engine which makes 121 BHP of power and the Diesel variant to be powered by 1.8 L Common rail Diesel engine which produces 108 BHP of power and 250 Nm of Torque. Both the engines will be mated to 7 speed G Tronic Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission. Sadly Mercedes will not bring the 6 Speed manual gearbox to India.
A 180 will be packed with loads of goodies. Mercedes will offer safety features like 6 Airbags,ABS and ESP as standard. We are expecting Mercedes Benz to offer AMG kit for the first 100 cars. Mercedes A Class will be locally Assembled. But earlier expected prices was below 20 Lakhs. Because of the extra goodies and other features. A class range will start above 20 Lakhs. Because of the brand Image we can expect Mercedes to get good numbers for A Class. Mercedes A class direct Competitor BMW 1 series will arrive in September. if Mercedes can price the A Class aggressively they can get the early lead in the luxury Hatch segment.
