Hi, i tried to copy paste dota 2 from my friend, without any luck, i couldn't make it work properly, i tried installing dota 2 and made a steam library, made it install for 1-2mins. then placed the "dota 2 copy" in the common folder. after that steam made me dl a 3.5gb update which i would not like to deal with.. Steam says dota 2 is not installed while i have it installed fine and it was detected in library now all of a sudden steam says the game is not installed and whenever i click dota 2 it says install. so i decided to head to steamapps folder to check and the game files was there at 15 gb named dota 2 beta. thats when i decided to run the. I hav played 360 hours of dota 2 already and now steam is asking me to install dota 2, whole game to install again !!! why ? i also checked my c folder and i hav the game too a few hours later, i installed some unrelated software that required my system to reboot. since that reboot, the steam client has lost track of the fact that l4d is.
